January 2012 Demo Artist
Jack Ragland

Artist Biography:
A California native, now living in Fallbrook, Jack Ragland’s large oil and acrylic paintings vibrate with life, scintillating with radiant color and exuberant brushwork. Jack earned an MA degree at Arizona State University, did three years of post-graduate study on a teaching fellowship at UCLA, and was head of the Department of Art at Simpson College (Indianola, Iowa) for 12 years. A sabbatical leave in Europe for study, travel, and a successful one-artist show in Vienna, Austria, sparked his dream of returning to California to paint full time. Jack has exhibited his works in solo and group shows in galleries from New York to California, and has won numerous competitive awards. His works are in private, corporate, and public collections in the USA and several countries in Europe. His considerable achievements are listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, and the International Who's Who.
General Meeting/Demo Date:
January 11, 2012 from 7p.m. - 9p.m.

Art Rotations September through December 2010
|
|
The EAA provides Members (only) the opportunity to display their work for sale inside various businesses in Escondido. Each work is displayed with the artist's telephone number and all sales are conducted directly between the artist and the buyer. There is no entry fee, but the artist making a sale must pay a commission, in most cases 15%, to EAA, and is responsible for collecting and paying sales tax to the California Franchise Tax Board. Each painting (or, if sold, a replacement) must remain hanging for three months, until the next Rotation.
Art is rotated four times a year, in March, June, September, and December, on the Thursday and Friday following EAA's monthly meeting.
Dick Weddleton, our Art Rotation Chair, has supplied the present rotation venues (which may be subject to change):
Best Western Motel Seven Oakes Drive at El Norte/I-15 intersection
Westside Café Ninth at Redwood
The Fencing Post South Escondido Blvd. (between Sunset and Felicita)
U.S. Bank Valley Parkway at Broadway (opposite City Hall)
For more information, and to participate, contact Dick at 760-796-4004.
